Academic Pathways
St. Peter Catholic is Texas’ first private, Catholic, co-educational Career and Technical High School, and only the second one of its kind in the United States. We are proud to serve students and families in the Houston area who seek a Catholic secondary education, as well as those looking for an alternative to public high school, charter high schools, or private college preparatory high schools. We offer students pathways to success in the classroom and beyond.
As part of our Career & Technical Education curriculum, the school offers students their choice of four Academic Career & Technical Pathways: Business, Construction, Education, Health Sciences, and Information Technology.
- Academic Career & Technical Pathway courses are taught both at St. Peter Catholic through a mix of in-person and online instruction, and in conjunction with our partnership with Houston Community (City) College, at two of their campus locations for additional coursework and hands-on skilled training and instruction.
- The combination of the core curriculum classes, and the Pathway courses will allow students upon graduation from St. Peter Catholic to earn:
- A High School Diploma – from Texas’ first Catholic, co-educational Career & Technical High School
- Level 1 Certification – in their chosen Academic Career & Technical Pathway
- Possible Associate’s Degree – from Houston City College in their chosen industry field depending on the field they choose
- Job Placement – with St. Peter Catholic partner businesses and organizations

The Academic Career & Technical Pathways were chosen in alignment with current and projected job growth in Texas, as well as to equip students with leverageable skills that will lead to employability within multiple industries. There are multiple phases of the school’s academic programming, and additional pathways will be added in the future. St. Peter Catholic has also built ‘life-skills’ into the curriculum which includes personal finance, resume development, personal marketing, and additional critical life components that will further prepare students who seek to become independent and begin their careers immediately following high school.
These life lessons, which are often not formally introduced to students, will help them navigate life after school and better prepare them for a career or continuing education.
